Our full stave wood worktops are constructed from wide planks of American Oak that run the full length of the worktop to ensure maximum durability and strength throughout years of constant use. All Oak panels and Oak worktops are supplied fully sanded to smooth, 180 grit finish, ready for oiling without any additional preparation. GG Joinery supplies wooden worktops untreated with square edges and corners as standard. 

We supply high-quality American White Oak worktops. 

American White Oak is strong, beautiful, rot-resistant, easy-to-work, and economical. It typically used for furniture, doors, staircases, architraves, paneling, and cabinetry.

Origin Eastern United States
Colour American White Oak tends to be paler than European Oak, with a slightly pinker hue. 
Grain The grain is straight, with a coarse, uneven texture. 
Rot Resistance Rated as very durable; frequently used in boatbuilding and tight cooperage applications.
Typical Applications Cabinetry, furniture, interior trim, flooring, boatbuilding, barrels, and veneer.
Density 770 kg/m³ average
Workability Produces good results with hand and machine tools. Has moderately high shrinkage values, resulting in mediocre dimensional stability, especially in flatsawn boards. Can react with iron (particularly when wet) and cause staining and discoloration. Responds well to steam-bending. Glues, stains, and finishes well.
