Terms and Conditions

This page, along with our Terms of Website Use and Privacy Policy, explains the legal terms and conditions for buying any goods listed on our website. Please read these carefully before making a purchase.

We can accept your order and form a legally binding agreement without contacting you again. Therefore, it is important that you fully understand these terms to make sure they meet your expectations and you are comfortable with them. If you have any questions, please call us on 07943 716077 or email contact@planedoak.co.uk.

These terms were last updated on 01/01/2025.

Please ensure you read and understand these terms before ordering.

7. Contract means the legally binding agreement between you and us to supply the goods.

8. Delivery Location means the place where the goods will be delivered, either our premises or another address you provide in your order.

9. Goods means the products we list on our website that you order, including the quantity and description shown in your order.

10. Order means the request you make to buy goods from us through the step-by-step process on our website.

Goods Information

13. The description of the Goods can be found on our website, catalogues, brochures, or other advertisements. Please note, descriptions are for guidance only. There may be slight differences in size and colour of the Goods supplied. We do not accept responsibility for variations in wood colours and shades.

14. After planing, timber may still have some knots. However, at least one side of each plank will be of good quality.

15. We do not join planks or worktops along the shorter sides (so the length remains the same). We do join along the longer sides to make planks or worktops wider, usually for widths of 200mm or more.

16. Dimensions of all Goods may vary by +/- 2mm.

17. All boards we sell are kiln-dried.

18. For any Goods made to your special requirements, it is your responsibility to ensure that all information and specifications you provide are accurate.

19. All Goods listed on the Website are subject to availability.

20. We may make changes to the Goods if required to comply with legal or safety regulations. We will inform you of any such changes.

Personal information

21. We retain and use all information strictly under the Privacy Policy.

22. We may contact you by using e-mail or other electronic communication methods.

Basis of Sale

23. The descriptions of Goods on our website do not constitute a contractual offer to sell. When you submit an Order through the website, we reserve the right to reject it for any reason. If we do so, we will aim to inform you of the reason without delay.

24. The Order process is explained on the website. Each step allows you to review and correct any mistakes before submitting your Order. It is your responsibility to ensure you have completed the ordering process correctly.

25. A contract for the Goods will only be formed once you receive an email from us confirming your Order and payment (Order Confirmation). Please check this confirmation carefully and notify us immediately if there are any errors. We are not responsible for mistakes made in the Order you place. By ordering, you agree that the contract confirmation can be sent to you by email, containing all relevant details. You will receive this confirmation within a reasonable time, and in any case, before the delivery of the Goods.

26. Quotes are valid for 14 days from the date issued, unless we cancel them earlier.

27. Once the contract is agreed, any changes—whether to the product description, price, or other terms—must be confirmed in writing by both you and us.

Price and Payment

28. The price of the Goods, including any delivery or other charges, is the price shown on our Website at the time you place your Order, or any other price we have agreed with you in writing.

29. If a product is accidentally listed at the wrong price, GG Joinery may cancel or refuse your order. This applies even if your order is confirmed, and your card has been charged. If your card has already been charged for a cancelled order, we will refund the amount charged.

30. All prices include VAT at the applicable rate when you place your Order.

31. Payment must be made by providing your credit or debit card details when ordering. We may take payment immediately or before delivering the Goods.

Delivery Information

32. We deliver goods to the address you provide within the agreed time or delivery period confirmed during your order.

33. Deliveries are available to England, Wales, and parts of Scotland. Please note we do not deliver to the Highlands and Islands.

34. Most timber deliveries are made using our own transport. Smaller orders (up to 1400mm in length) and those over 100 miles from our workshop may be sent via Parcelforce. These are carefully packed and shipped by courier.

35. We will contact you when your order is ready to arrange a convenient delivery day and time.

36. Delivery times are between 7 am and 7 pm, Monday to Friday.

37. Someone must be present to sign for the delivery, check the goods, and help the delivery driver unload.

38. Deliveries are made by one person only. If you choose to assist with unloading, please remember that worktops are very heavy. GG Joinery accepts no liability for any injury that occurs during unloading.

39. We may deliver your order in instalments if stock shortages or other genuine reasons occur. You will not be charged extra for this.

40. The goods become your responsibility once delivery is complete or you collect them. Please inspect your order before accepting it, if reasonably possible.

Risk and Ownership

41. Risk of damage to or loss of the goods passes to you once the goods are delivered.

42. You do not own the goods until we have received full payment.

43. If full payment is overdue or if you approach bankruptcy, we may cancel any delivery and take back any goods still owned by us. In that case, you must return the goods or allow us to collect them.

Product Quality and Compliance

44. We are legally required to supply goods that meet the terms of the contract.

45. On delivery, the goods will:

a. Be of satisfactory quality.

b. Be suitable for any specific purpose you told us about before buying (provided it was reasonable to rely on our expertise).

c. Match the description given.

46. If any issue with the goods is caused by your own materials, this does not count as a failure on our part.

Successors and Subcontractors

47. Either party may transfer their rights under this Contract to another person, but it will still be responsible for fulfilling its obligations. The Supplier is responsible for the actions of any subcontractors they hire to help with their duties.

Circumstances Beyond Control

48. If either party cannot meet their obligations due to reasons beyond their reasonable control: a) they must inform the other party as soon as possible; b) their obligations will be suspended as much as is reasonable during this time, provided they act fairly. They won’t be held responsible for any failure they could not reasonably prevent. However, this does not affect the Customer’s rights regarding delivery or cancellation as described elsewhere in the Contract.

Excluding Liability

49. We do not exclude liability for:

• Any fraudulent act or omission.

• Death or personal injury caused by our negligence or breach of legal obligations.

Other than this, we are not liable for:

• Losses that were not reasonably foreseeable by both parties when the contract was made.

• Losses such as loss of profit to your business, trade, craft, or profession, if you are buying the goods mainly for business purposes. This is because we believe the goods are not being bought mainly for business use.

Governing Law, Jurisdiction, and Complaints

50. The contract, including any related matters, is governed by the law of England and Wales.

51. Any disputes can be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, disputes can be dealt with in the courts of those countries.

52. We aim to resolve any issues quickly. If you have a complaint, please contact us and we will try to find a solution. We aim to respond within 5 days.

Right of Return and Refund

53. Order Cancellation

Customers have the right to cancel their website order at any time before dispatch. Once the order has been dispatched, cancellation is no longer permitted. Please note that orders for custom-sized products cannot be cancelled once placed.

54. Faulty Products

If a product is found to be faulty, the customer is entitled to exchange the product for a proper, non-defective item. We reserve the right to verify the fault before processing any exchange.

55. Refunds

Refunds for cancelled orders will be issued to the original payment card used at the time of ordering. The total refund amount will be subject to a deduction representing any fees charged by the card provider. These fees are beyond our control.

56. Installation Instructions

Installation instructions are a critical part of the terms and conditions. Customers are required to follow all installation guidelines provided. Failure to adhere to these instructions will result in the voiding of any product warranty.

By placing an order with GG Joinery, customers acknowledge and agree to these terms regarding returns, refunds, and warranty conditions.
