Full stave Ash worktops cut to size!
We manufacture Ash worktops in our workshop in Codford, Wiltshire. From machining kiln-dried sawn American Ash Natural Grade timber to creating beautiful full stave worktops, we have full control of the entire process.
Solid Ash worktops are supplied untreated with square edges and corners as standard.
Our full stave worktops are constructed from wide planks of Ash that run the full length of the worktop to ensure maximum durability and strength throughout years of constant use.
Each stave is a random width but is generally between 120mm - 200mm wide.
American Ash Natural Grade panels and worktops are sanded to a 120-grit finish.
We can provide beautiful and bespoke Ash worktops for a range of uses. If you need a new kitchen worktop, new breakfast bar, new kitchen island or new desk top please check our offer.
GG Joinery also offers bespoke wooden worktops cut to size, in both width and length.
We can cut out the holes for the hobs and sinks. We can make edge profiles, like pencil edges, rounded edges, chamfered edges, and ogee edges.
American Ash
American Ash is a clean general-purpose joinery timber ideal for interior applications. When stained, ash can look very similar to oak.

The heartwood is a light to medium brown colour. Sapwood can be very wide, and tends to be a beige or light brown; not always clearly or sharply demarcated from heartwood

American Ash has a medium to coarse texture similar to oak. The grain is almost always straight and regular, though sometimes moderately curly or figured boards can be found.

Heartwood is rated as perishable, or only slightly durable in regard to decay. Ash is also not resistant to insect attacks.
Typical Applications:
Flooring, millwork, boxes/crates, baseball bats, and other turned objects such as tool handles.

670 kg/m3 average
Workability:
Produces good results with hand or machine tools. Responds well to steam bending. Glues, stains, and finishes well.
